My entire being screamed NO, that this is not how it is supposed to be. I tell myself to be aloof, to stop caring as this is how the game is supposed to be played. Instead of lying about my feeling, I chose to be speak honestly.  Relationship is difficult isn’t it. There is an art of lying that I haven’t yet mastered. The rules are simple actually. You win when you stop caring.Like poker,you win when you lie with aloofness,holding your cards close to your heart, not showing your opponents, your strength,your weaknesses. And the prize?  A lifetime of being saved from hurt and heartbreak. Because nobody can hurt you, let alone touch the icy exterior of your wall.
